Northern Ireland academics and companies have secured >€95.M through almost 300 collaborative research and innovation projects and fellowships under the Horizon 2020 programme, which is now at an end.
The UK-EU Trade and Cooperation Agreement has paved the way towards UK association to the forthcoming Horizon Europe Research and Innovation programme (2021-2027). Once confirmed, that would secure access to the programme for NI scientists, researchers and businesses on equivalent terms as organisations in EU countries. Ahead of the official launch of Horizon Europe, this webinar from the NICP network will help make local stakeholders aware of the forthcoming opportunities.

European Research and Innovation Days is the European Commission’s annual flagship Research and Innovation event, bringing together policymakers, researchers, entrepreneurs and the public to debate and shape the future of research and innovation in Europe and beyond.

The research & Impact team together with Northern Ireland Contact Points (NICPs) are inviting Ulster University researchers to attend an online Horizon Europe Information event.
This event is aimed at all UU academics and researchers who are interested in applying to the Horizon Europe Programme.
European Advisor Jon Brookes (UKRO) will introduce the Horizon Europe Program and discuss the background and an overview of the new Horizon Europe Program.
Participants will receive an update from NICP for each of the clusters and there will be an opportunity to ask questions.
AIREN—All-Island Research Excellence Network event:
‘North / South Research Collaboration Opportunities’ on Wednesday 30th June from 14:00-16:00 hrs.
This Inaugural AIREN Workshop event will present an overview of the strategies and initiatives Science Foundation Ireland (SFI), Horizon Europe and the PEACE PLUS Programme have in place to support North / South research collaboration. The National Science Foundation (NSF) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) will also present and share their insights on the US Ireland Research & Development Partnership Programme.

The Horizon Europe Brokerage Event on the 2021 Cluster Health call for proposals is on Monday 5th July 2021. The Brokerage Event is jointly organised by Bridge2HE, the European Commission and the Enterprise Europe Network.
