Northern Ireland & Republic of Ireland Collaboration

All-Island Networking and Cooperation

North-South collaboration on the island of Ireland offers the possibility of strong partnerships with our near neighbours.  It also brings opportunities for further developing the all-island economy and addressing the strategic challenges we face on both sides of the border.

The Northern Ireland Contact Points (NICPs) and Irish National Contact Points (NCPs), the relevant Departments, local government and statutory and enterprise agencies work closely through formal channels as well as on an informal basis to ensure shared intelligence and seeking to grow N-S partnerships for European collaboration.  Activities include:

  • All-island information events on Horizon Europe calls – promoting opportunities and showcasing successes.
  • Joint organisation of networking and brokerage events – helping potential applicants find partners.
  • Support from Intertrade Ireland – including promoting cross-border initiatives, training, events and funding for travel.
